Learning Format For Culinary Arts Concentration

Our Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) concentration in culinary arts is designed to be completed 100% online, with students completing assignments, readings, tests and projects throughout the semester. Recorded lectures via Mediasite will connect you with professors and other students on your own time. Student participation, using Mediasite and Blackboard, related to recorded lectures is done on your own schedule, rather than during a specific time. Our program is designed with the working professional in mind.

As a BAAS culinary arts student, we are committed to helping you complete your degree as efficiently as possible. Throughout the program, we offer advising via phone or email and are always excited when students reach out to us.

Culinary Arts Resources

At ENMU we want to make sure you get the help you need. We offer several tutoring services, including the Online Writing Center (OWL), which is only for distance education students. The OWL is available to help you improve your writing and help you clearly communicate for written, school related projects and assignments. We also have online databases, journal articles and eBooks accessible through the Golden Student Success Center. Since ENMU has a dedicated distance education librarian on staff, you’ll always have the help you need to take advantage of library resources.

Affordable Bachelor’s in Culinary Arts

Eastern New Mexico University has the second lowest bachelor's and master's-level tuition in the state of New Mexico, and has one of the most affordable tuition rates in the United States. Once you are an enrolled culinary arts students you are eligible to apply for the following scholarships through the ENMU Foundation specifically for culinary arts and family and consumer science students: Olmsted Scholarship, Family and Consumer Sciences Leadership Scholarship and Frank W. Fort Memorial Scholarship.

It used to be that a degree in culinary arts prepared you for work as a line cook in a restaurant. That is no longer the case. In addition to a starting position in a kitchen line a degree in culinary arts can open the door to many food related careers:
