Theatre Program Details

The Department of Theatre and Digital Filmmaking offers you opportunities for study in performance as well as experience in the related fields of communication, filmmaking and art with a curriculum that reflects the ongoing and dynamic changes in the industry.

Beginning in your first class of your your first semester, you'll be encouraged to engage yourself in the life of the department as a performer and technician. Additionally, you'll receive one-on-one attention from experienced faculty.

Through a combination of live performance opportunities, classroom and studio studies, guest artist and lecturer residencies, selected directed studies, and participation in short films, you'll learn and grow as a scholar and an artist through course of your matriculation.

The Department of Theatre and Digital Filmmaking faculty are committed to responsible academic advising. Faculty members are specialists in their areas of advising and are current with requirements for admission into the programs they advise. Get More Out of Your Theatre Degree with Hands-On Learning

As a theatre major at ENMU, you'll participate in an expanded season of production as an actor, stage manager, director and designer. From the Freshman Showcase through your senior year, opportunities for participation are available in Mainstage, Studio and dance productions. Most students also work as actors in the many student and faculty films produced by the Digital Filmmaking program, housed within the department.

Scholarships and Financial Assistance

ENMU is committed to helping you finance their education. In addition to grants, loans and scholarships offered University-wide, there are scholarships available specifically tailored toward theatre studies. Many ENMU students choose to work part-time jobs on campus to help finance their education.
