The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences family and consumer sciences foods and nutrition concentration gives you knowledge and skills required in food and nutrition related careers such as managing wellness programs and working at social service agencies. Additionally, the gained knowledge and skills will enhance your life skills which with result in a higher quality of life for you and your family.

Each BAAS degree requires a student to have a primary concentration and a secondary concentration. If your vocational/technical credit takes care of your primary concentration area, then you'll take just eight classes (24 hours) to earn your family and consumer sciences foods and nutrition BAAS degree at ENMU.

Do I Qualify for This BAAS Program?

Our Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science Family and Consumer Science Foods and Nutrition Concentration will help you use your prior academic experience to complete your bachelor's degree.

You can enter our BAAS Program to earn your bachelor's degree if you are working on your first bachelor's and have at least one of the following:

  1. Have an Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree from an institution with accreditation recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
  2. Have earned a significant number of credit hours in a career-technical related discipline from an institution with accreditation recognized by the CHEA

We are committed to helping you finance your education. In addition to grants, loans, and work-study offered by Financial Aid and Enrollment Services, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers scholarships for current students. Faculty members are specialists in their areas of advising and are current with requirements for admission into the programs they advise so you get the academic advice you need, when you need it.

Service and Mutual Interest Organizations

If you would like to get more involved, ENMU provides the opportunity to use the skills you'll gain while working on your degree to hold leadership positions in our many organizations. At ENMU, you will be able to explore more than 50 student organizations that range from academic, cultural, multicultural, service, special interest and fraternities/sororities. If you see a need for an organization we don't have, you can even start your own.

When you receive a BAAS degree with a family and consumer sciences foods and nutrition concentration, you can look forward to an enhanced career in your field. This might include new opportunities in management or a new career in a related field. BAAS Concentration: Foods and Nutrition

The BAAS program requires you to complete 120 hours to earn your bachelor's degree. Within those 120 hours, you must complete a primary concentration and a secondary concentration.
