Dr. J.S. Elwell is the tenth president of Eastern New Mexico University. His responsibilities include overseeing the University's operations and strategic initiatives, serving as a spokesperson of the University at both a local and global scale.
Board of Regents
The Board of Regents is the highest governing body of the University whose broad responsibilities are to supervise, coordinate, manage and regulate all aspects of ENMU. The board consists of five members, one of whom is a member of the student body of the University.
Eastern New Mexico University combines a traditional learning environment with 21st century technology to provide a rich educational experience. Eastern emphasizes liberal learning, freedom of inquiry, cultural diversity and whole student life. Excellent teaching and active learning define campus relationships. Scholarship, both primary and applied, cultural enrichment, and professional service are also important contributions of the University community.
