McCants and Connor Earn Weekly LSC Honors as Hounds Continue Historic Season

PORTALES, NM -Just six weeks after sharing Lone Star Conference Weekly honors, the duo of Mikaehla Connor and Daeshi McCants from the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team have done it again. On Monday afternoon, the LSC office released its weekly awards with Connor earning Offensive Player of the Week and McCants chosen as Defensive Player of the Week. Both garnered the same honor on December 5, 2016.

Following Road Wins, Greyhounds Vault to Second in South Central Poll

PORTALES, NM - With two road wins in Lone Star Conference play last week, which included an overtime win over nationally-ranked Angelo State, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (14-3; LSC 10-0) moved up in the latest regional poll. With their seventh straight appearance in the South Central Region of the 2016-17 Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll, the Hounds are tied with Regis for second place.

Greyhound Women's Basketball Receiving National Recognition

PORTALES, NM - With their best start in a quarter century, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (14-3; LSC 10-0) is receiving plenty of national recognition. After receiving votes in the Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll sponsored by D2SIDA, the Greyhounds have vaulted to 17th in the nation. Eastern also received votes in the WBCA poll for the second straight week.

Szych Places Third in 800m Run on Second Day of Cherry & Silver Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - The Eastern New Mexico University indoor track & field teams concluded action at the University of New Mexico Cherry & Silver Invitational on Saturday, with a number of strong performances. Klaudia Szych paced the women's team with a third-place finish in the 800-meter run, while Jared Bachman registered strong performances in the men's weight throw and shot put.

Gryschka and Lloyd Post Qualifying Marks on Opening Day of Cherry & Silver Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - The Eastern New Mexico University indoor track & field continued their strong start to the season on the first day of competition at the University of New Mexico Cherry & Silver Invitational. The women's team was paced by a fourth-place performance by Melina Gryschka in the 3,000-meter run. Kenneth Lloyd led the men's team with a second-place outing in the high jump.

PORTALES, NM - The 2016-17 year has been a strong one for the Eastern New Mexico University athletic department both on the field and in the classroom. That trend continued on Tuesday afternoon, when the Lone Star Conference released its Commissioner's Honor Roll for the fall semester, and the Greyhounds led the league with 171 honorees.
