Eastern New Mexico University Alumni Association and the ENMU Foundation are continually looking for ways to engage alumni and friends of Eastern. From alumni gatherings to a golf tournament, the association and Foundation plan and execute activities to honor and recognize alumni and friends of Eastern. See the areas below to find out more about these activities.
Wind Symphony Concert
The Eastern New Mexico University Wind Symphony will perform at the Lensic Performing Arts Center on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. MST. ENMU’s Wind Symphony is the University’s most select organization. Participants in the wind symphony enjoy membership in the prestigious College Band Directors Association (CBDNA). Director of Bands Mr. Dustin Seifert leads the Wind Symphony and is the New Mexico Educators Association (NMMEA) 2014 Music Educator of the Year. The event is free and open to the public.
New Stadium Campaign
Eastern New Mexico University students approved a student fee increase of $40 per semester for full-time students ($3.33 per credit hour for part-time students) to fund $4 million over 30 years of a proposed new multi-purpose stadium on campus. The vote passed with an overwhelming 83% showing support for the facility (1,052 of 1,237 voted in favor). The stadium broke ground in June of 2015 and opened to the public in 2016—in time for the first football game that September.
PHASE TWO: Although the $15.3 million phase one construction has been completed, there are still additions that need funding.
October 2017 marks Eastern New Mexico University’s 83rd Homecoming celebration. Every year, Homecoming brings together students, alumni, faculty and staff, and the local community for a week of activities with something for everyone. With a full week of fun activities, some of the fun weekend highlights include the Alumni Volleyball Game, the Homecoming Picnic at President Gamble’s residence, the Friday night bonfire, the ENMU Foundation’s Annual Homecoming Breakfast, the Homecoming Parade on Saturday morning, the Homecoming Alumni-Student Tailgate and the Homecoming Football Game in the University’s new stadium.
Alumni Visa Card
Consider signing up for the ENMU Alumni Visa card. There is no annual fee, exorbitant rates, or hidden charges. Once you or an authorized user activate your card, Visa gives a $50 donation to the ENMU Alumni organization; ongoing purchases also benefit the ENMU Alumni organization.
Annual Alumni Awards
Eastern New Mexico University Alumni Association and the ENMU Foundation recognize alumni and non-alumni who have made meaningful contributions. Since 1966, the Association has awarded over 200 awards in three categories: Outstanding Alumni, Distinguished Service and Honorary Lifetime. Alumni Scholarship Golf Tournament
Since this tournament's inception in 2010, nearly $200,000 in scholarship funds have been raised. The four-person scramble is open to golfers of any ability level and will be held on July 8, 2016 at the Santa Ana Golf Course, in Albuquerque. As always, the event will be capped off with a reception for alumni, friends and current students at the Hyatt Tamaya Resort and Spa that same evening. Deadline for entries is Monday, June 6, 2016.
