Juror: Lucy R. Lippard

Juror of Selections and Awards:

Lucy R Lippard, internationally known writer and activist, is the author of twenty books on contemporary art and cultural criticism including her only novel I See/You Mean. Her career includes performance art pieces and street theatre. Lippard has curated approximately fifty exhibitions worldwide and is the recipient of several awards including a 1968 Guggenheim Fellowship, two grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, and the College Art Association's Frank Jewett Mather Award for art criticism. Lippard holds honorary Doctorates of Fine Arts from numerous institutions.


"Analogous" Awards and Catalog:

• Awards include Best of Show, Second, and Third places. Monetary awards are dependent upon the number of entries received.

• An exhibition catalog will be produced; all accepted artists will receive one complimentary copy.


Eligibility:

• The show is open to any artist. Each artist is limited to three entries. The Work must be original, completed within the last five years, and not previously shown at ENMU.

• Size restrictions: Submissions must not exceed twenty inches in any dimension including frame. Three-dimensional submissions must not exceed twenty inches in any dimension and must not exceed forty pounds.

• Media restrictions: Submissions will not be accepted that require electricity or water. Submissions that require suspension from the ceiling will not be accepted.


Complete Entries Must Include:

• Entry Fee: $35.00 (US) Non-Refundable

o Make checks payable to: ENMU National Juried Exhibition

• CD:

o Up to 3 images per artist. Submissions should adhere to the following guidelines:

o On the CD:

  • Files should be sized to 300 dpi.
  • File Proportion should not be less than 5"x7".
  • Files should be saved as .jpg.
  • Label each file in the following way:
    • Lastname_Firstname_1.jpg
    • Lastname_Firstname_2.jpg
    • Lastname_Firstname_3.jpg
    • Numbers should match those on entry form.
    • Images should not include any personal information such as a name or web site.
    • Label your CD with: Name, Phone, Number of Pieces, and E-mail.
    • Word document containing Artist's Statement no longer than 100 words, labeled: Lastname_Firstname_AS.doc
    • CDs will not be returned.

• Completed Entry Form.

• One printed copy of artist's statement. The artist's statement should be no longer than 100 words. Statements longer than 100 words will not be included in the catalog.

 

Accepted Artist:

• Accepted artists will be contacted by e-mail.

• A list of accepted artists will be posted on-line at:
www.enmu.edu/services/museums/runnels/analogous_list.html

• Artists are responsible for shipping their work in reusable boxes.

• Accepted work will be exhibited in the Runnels Gallery of ENMU.


Delivery of Accepted Works:

• Selected artists are responsible for shipping or hand delivering their work by the designated date and time.

• All shipments must be prepaid or they will not be accepted.

    • All work must be properly wired for hanging. No saw tooth hangers will be accepted.
    • All three dimensional work must be stable.
    • All work must be labeled with the artist's name, title of work, medium, and price.
    • Return shipping must be enclosed with the artwork.

Return of Accepted Works:

• Artwork return is the financial responsibility of the artist.

• Artwork will be returned via a prepaid carrier label from United
States Postal Service (USPS) or UPS provided by the artist and prepaid by the artist.

• No USPS return metered labels. If shipping USPS use postage
stamps for full value.

• For return of work all artwork must have appropriate paperwork and shipper bar scans.

• Work for which return shipping is not received by close of exhibition
will incur a $20.00 per day storage fee.

• All work unclaimed 30 days after the close of the exhibition will become the property of the ENMU Art Department.


Liability:

• ENMU will exercise due care in handling all work submitted. Neither ENMU, the Runnels Gallery, nor any of their agents will be responsible for loss or damage to any work, whether such work is on display, in storage, or in transit. All accepted work must remain on display until the close of the exhibition. ENMU assumes the right to photograph any work for catalog or publicity purposes.

• A storage fee of $20.00 per day will be charged for any work not picked up by the specified dates.

• The submission of work to this exhibit will be understood to imply agreement and consent on the part of the artist or agent with the conditions set forth in this prospectus.
