Elementary Education

ENMU's elementary alternative licensure program is available online. This 24-credit hour program, approved by the New Mexico Public Education Department, can lead to your attaining K-8 licensure in New Mexico. Many courses contain practicum components. You must be a teacher of record in a New Mexico school for one year for your intern license to be articulated to a traditional Level I Teaching License. In order to be admitted into the ENMU licensure program, you must meet the Graduate School admission guideline of having a minimum 3.0 GPA. In addition, you must have a composite of 30 credit hours of undergraduate coursework in English, science, math and social studies courses to be eligible for licensure with the state of New Mexico.
