Summary: The Cook works under the Dining Services Director and supports all activities of the Dining Services Department including the Kitchen and Dining Room. This position is responsible for quality of meals served, quality of service delivery during meal service and for compliance with special diets offered by the Community. It is important to provide the highest quality food preparation, plate presentation and prompt service to all Residents.
Hours would be between 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM creating delicious meals for our residents.

Education and/or Experience
Basic knowledge and understanding of cooking skills and ability to follow instructions/recipes consistently.
High school diploma or equivalent or as required by state.
Must be able to read English proficiently.
Duties: Responisble for job checklist duties.
Follows the approved Menu Program or approved substitution menu that meets nutritional requirements, as directed by the Dining Services Director; If assisting with food purchasing, then follows buying practices approved by the company; Conforms to policy and procedures for all special diets offered; Responds to resident likes and dislikes maintaining high resident satisfaction.
Ensure that all foods are prepared to satisfactions of residents and in accordance with safe food handling practices.
Maintains food temperatures during storage, production and serving according to requried food safety standards.
Uses equipment that meets all health departmen standards; All food items are stored appropriately and dated properly.
Ensures that staff provides service that maintains good resident experiences during meal times.
At the conclusion of each meal, visit with residents in teh Dinig Room for feedback.
Helps maintain a clean kitche. This includes but is not limited to all equipment, walls, dry storage, cold storage, cooking and preparation surfaces and dish storage areas; Follow all health department pracites, safety practices, and infections control practices.
Break down service line and clean work area as scheduled or instructed by Dining Services Director; Properly care for and clean all work areas and equipment.
Report to work in a safe manner and that potentially hazardous conditions are managed; Compliance with Safety Committee Standards is required.
Conduct yourself and your business at all tiems so as not to detract from or reflect adversely on the reputation of the Community.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
