Childcare Training and Technical Assistance Program (TTAP)

The Child Care Training and Technical Assistance Program offers technical assistance and training workshops for child care providers, home care providers, parents, foster parents, students and community members interested in child care issues. The program is funded by the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department. We provide community members with information about quality child care and available resources, and equip parents with the tools to ensure a safe and enriched learning environment for their children.

Technical Assistance and Training Workshops are offered at Eastern New Mexico University and around southeastern New Mexico, as well as over the phone. Topics include:

  • Child growth, development and learning
  • Health, safety and nutrition
  • Family and community collaboration
  • Developmentally appropriate content
  • Learning environment and curriculum implementation
  • Assessment of children and programs
  • Professionalism
