Because of the continued spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) nationwide, Eastern New Mexico University has canceled all campus events until Jan. 16. University events will resume as the situation allows, and additional information regarding events will be posted as it becomes available.
We take very seriously the responsibility to make prudent and well-informed choices for the well-being of our campus community and the public. We continue to prepare for all scenarios in this rapidly evolving situation. The health of our students, faculty and staff is our highest priority.

Day of Art ENMU Campus Art Project
The campus community is invited to participate in the creation of art. All supplies will be provided and no prior registration for participation is required. All students, faculty and staff may come and go as they please; contribute and much or as little as you desire. No expertise in art or design required. Artwork created during the event will be on public design once completed with the possibility of permanent installation in a campus or off-campus building.
Day of Art ENMU Sidewalk Chalk Competition
An area of campus sidewalk roughly the size of four feet by four feet will be assigned to each participant. Prior planning and practice of your artwork at this size is encouraged. Be sure to ask permission first and no practice on university sidewalks before the event, please.
On the day of the event a box of Prang chalk for use in the competition will be provided. One box of per entry; entries are defined as a single individual or a team of two individuals.
Please consider bringing kneepads and towels to work with on the cement. Water for washing and rinsing hands will be in a central location. You may also choose to bring a spray bottle with water, as it may be helpful to reduce chalk dust and can be used for blending. Keep in mind that you will be working on your hands and knees and that chalk is very messy; you should dress appropriately.
There is no theme. Each entry will be judged based on overall creativity and craftsmanship. Your work must be original and conceived by you and/or your teammate. Outside assistance by other students, instructors or other individuals at any time during the competition will result in immediate disqualification.
