Creative Connections is a free monthly gathering hosted by University Art at Eastern New Mexico University that brings together students, faculty, staff, and community members through creativity, conversation, and shared artistic exploration. Whether you are an experienced artist, curious beginner, hobby maker, or simply looking for a welcoming creative space, Creative Connections invites everyone to participate.
Held every third Thursday of the month in the Runnels Gallery, located within the Golden Student Success Center, Creative Connections offers an informal and supportive environment where participants can create, share ideas, and build meaningful connections with others who value creativity.
A Space for Creativity and Community
At Creative Connections, there is no single way to participate. Guests are encouraged to bring their own creative projects to work on, including drawing, painting, crochet, knitting, digital design, writing, crafting, or other creative pursuits. Participants are equally welcome to join in hands-on activities provided by University Art.
Activities vary throughout the year and may include collaborative artmaking, printmaking, mixed-media exploration, seasonal creative projects, and experimental workshops designed to spark curiosity and encourage artistic growth. The focus is not perfection, but participation, exploration, and creative exchange.
Creative Connections is about more than making art. It is about building relationships, sharing ideas, learning from one another, and creating opportunities for campus and community members to come together through creativity.
Who Can Participate?
Creative Connections is open to:
- ENMU students
- Faculty and staff
- Community members
- Artists and makers of all backgrounds and skill levels
No artistic experience is required. Whether you come to create, connect, observe, or simply try something new, there is a place for you.
Participants under 18 are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the event.
