Bachelor of Science in Music

If you're interested in performing either vocally or instrumentally, you should major in music. A music major's time frame for degree completion varies with each student, but you can attain this degree in four years.

Special Services and Opportunities

The music faculty is committed to responsible academic advising. Faculty members are specialists in their areas of advising and know the current requirements for their programs. The University also has a reputable record regarding student success in the music performance field.

Service and Mutual Interest Organizations

Greyhound Sound Marching Band, Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Steel Band, Chamber Singers, University Singers, Swanee Singers, and chamber ensembles. National Association for Music Education, National Band Association, American Choral Directors Association, Kappa Kappa Psi and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia provide students the opportunity to use their musical skills and hold leadership positions on campus.

Eastern New Mexico University is committed to helping students finance their education. In addition to grants, loans and scholarships offered University-wide, the College of Fine Arts offers numerous talent based scholarships to its students. High School Courses

If you're interested in music performance, include the following courses in your high school curriculum: school ensembles, private instruction, and piano. Additionally, knowledge of basic theory would prove beneficial.
