The Dr. Antonio "Tony" Gennaro Natural History Museum, housed within the Department of Biology at Eastern New Mexico University, inspires curiosity and fosters an understanding of the natural world through engaging exhibits and scientific collections. Located within the Roosevelt Science Center, the museum highlights the biodiversity of eastern New Mexico and the surrounding region, featuring live native species alongside preserved bird and mammal specimens.
Dr. Gennaro joined ENMU in 1966 and established the museum in 1967, building a legacy as an outstanding educator and nationally recognized researcher. After a distinguished 32-year career, he retired in 1998 as an Emeritus Professor of Biology. In Spring 2016, the museum was renamed in his honor.
