Art Fest

The Department of Art and the Runnels Gallery proudly present the annual Art Fest. Students from regional high schools, junior colleges, and community colleges are invited to engage in hands-on workshops, watch live demonstrations, and participate in a portfolio review for a chance to receive an ENMU Art Scholarship. This immersive, one-day festival offers a glimpse into the creative community at Eastern New Mexico University, providing valuable experiences for emerging artists.

Art Fest: Friday, March 27, 2026 | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

2026 Workshops

Workshops are led by the Department of Art’s faculty, each sharing their area of expertise. Students will participate in two workshops, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, enabling them to explore multiple areas of art in a single day. Art teachers are also encouraged to participate, learning alongside students. Each workshop is designed for ambitious, curious, and creative artists eager to expand their skills.

  • Landscape Painting
  • Screen Printing Basics
  • Introduction to Chainmaile Linking
  • Wheel-Thrown Pottery
  • Cut-out Animation Studio
  • Charcoal Portrait Drawing

A final, detailed workshop and activity schedule will be shared closer to the event date and emailed to schools and individuals who register.

Portfolio Review and Scholarship Competition

High school juniors, seniors, and those intending to transfer to ENMU are invited to sign up for one-on-one portfolio reviews during the festival. Bring together your best projects and artwork (viewed digitally or in person) for a comprehensive evaluation by experienced art and design professors and professionals. Faculty reviewers will be ready to award scholarship funds to students intending to apply or attend ENMU, so don’t miss this fantastic opportunity!
