What is a Crisis?
A crisis is any situation that feels overwhelming, difficult to manage, or creates a risk to your safety or the safety of others. Mental health crises can look different for everyone and may involve intense emotional distress, thoughts of self-harm, concern for someone else's well-being, or difficulty coping with daily life.
You do not need to be in immediate danger to seek support. If you feel overwhelmed, unable to cope, or unsure of what to do next, we encourage you to reach out. Help is available.
When Should I Reach Out?
- Feeling overwhelmed or unable to cope
- Experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicide
- Concerned about the safety of yourself or someone else
- Struggling after a traumatic or distressing event
- Worried about a student, colleague, friend, or family member
Crisis Situation Contacts
