Life at ENMU

Congratulations on your admission to Eastern New Mexico University!

Our Greyhound Guide will help you make sense of every level of college life and give you hints on adjusting to it as quickly as possible once you're here.

Chapter 1: Greyhound Life

You’ll get the most out of college as you learn to balance your co-curricular and extra-curricular experiences. At ENMU, you’ll be able to explore more than 50 student organizations that range from academic and multicultural, to service, special interest and Greek. If you do not find a group you like, you can start your own; our Associated Students Activity Board (ASAB) will walk you through the steps.

Joining an organization at ENMU will help you meet other students from diverse backgrounds, as well as those who share common interests. You will have more demands on your time which will encourage you to be less of a procrastinator and be more efficient with your time management skills. Your involvement also will enhance your resume because it documents your leadership and service experiences on campus.

The Associated Students Activities Board (ASAB) is a national awarding winning group that sponsors a wide variety of activities throughout the year. Events include: comedians, talent shows, performing artists, novelty events, recreational activities, spirit events, musicians and community service opportunities. Students are encouraged to join ASAB to enhance leadership skills, build peer networks, fully settle into their new campus community, as well as gain experience in event planning.

At ENMU we know that having opportunities to be active is essential to your health and success as a student. Our campus recreation caters to your diverse interests we provide a fitness facility, swimming facility, climbing wall and boxing area. With our intramural sports, great skills are not necessary to enjoy an active lifestyle. To encourage participation, most of our activities are offered in divisions based on skill and competitiveness, allowing students to choose an appropriate level of play. Activities include flag football, volleyball, dodgeball, soccer, basketball, kickball, softball and many other sports.

Why I Love Being an ENMU Greyhound:

I feel at home here at Eastern, I feel like I am able to talk to the professors and ask questions instead of hiding in the back of the room, scared that they would yell at me if I didn't understand. Other than the professors, the community is also extremely welcoming to ALL types of people, which I love.
