"Dr. Brunsen was a phenomenal person." – Kriss-Ann Walters
Kriss-Ann Walters, who received a BS in psychology with a minor in Spanish from ENMU in the spring, says a chief influence in her success was the late Dr. Bill Brunsen, business professor.
"Dr. Brunsen was a phenomenal person," said the transfer from Adams State University. "There was so much I learned from him. He provided me with with opportunities that enhanced my overall well-being as a student and person. Volunteerism was very important to him. That was an area that he exposed me to the most.
"I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I hadn’t encountered several influential people. Dr. Brunsen was one of them. He made such an impact on my life. He opened my eyes to several perspectives. I have always enjoyed helping others. Being able to work with someone who shared the passion made the experience even more invaluable."
Kriss-Ann was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, for 18 years by her parents. She has one sibling, a younger sister.
She is starting graduate school this fall, and also has one season of eligibility left on the track team (competing in throwing events).
Her hobbies include reading various genres of books or simply relaxing and watching TV.
Her career goal is to be a clinical psychologist and eventually own her practice.
In describing what her priorities are, Kriss-Ann said, "Opportunities to make myself a better person each day and create a better life for my parents, who had a great influence in the way they raised me.
"I also strive to be the best role model I can be for my younger sister. All in all, I want to show my parents that how they raised me wasn’t in vain and to make them feel gratified."
