Student Government Association of Eastern New Mexico University

ENMU's Student Government Association (SGA) provides students a voice in University governance and helps to enhance the overall student experience. Student government is comprised of three branches: the executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch.

The executive branch is led by the student body president and is comprised of other executive officials and directors. The legislative branch is led by the student body vice president (president of student senate) and comprises the legislative cabinet and student senate. The judicial branch is led by the chief justice and comprises other justices and support staff.

Sirjustin Bowen
Student Body President

My name is Sirjustin Bowen, and I am honored to serve as the 2025 - 2026 Student Body President at Eastern New Mexico University. As a student pursuing a degree in Communication with minors in Graphic Design and Digital Filmmaking, I’ve always believed in the power of storytelling. I’m committed to using my voice to advocate for every Greyhound on our campus.

Born in Madison, Wisconsin, and raised in Kentucky, I bring a unique perspective shaped by diverse experiences and a deep passion for leadership, service, and student empowerment. My journey at ENMU has been defined by my desire to make a difference and ensure every student feels valued. Before becoming Student Body President, I worked in Residence Life and Campus Life in various student leadership roles, which gave me firsthand insight into the needs and dreams of our diverse student body. Through this involvement, I saw how vital it is to foster a sense of community and belonging at ENMU.

As President, I plan to lead our Student Government Association with a focus on transparency, inclusion, and meaningful change. Whether working with university leadership, planning campus-wide events, or addressing student concerns, I strive to be a leader who listens first and acts with purpose.

Outside of SGA, I’ve had the privilege of being named Mr. Black Excellence by the ENMU Black Student Union. This honor reflects my commitment to celebrating and advocating diversity on campus. I also proudly wear the official ENMU class ring—a personal reminder of growth, resilience, and the community that has shaped me.

Serving as Student Body President has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and I’m excited for what we can continue to achieve together. I strongly encourage and welcome all students at Eastern to come to me with any questions, comments, and/or concerns. I can be contacted at [email protected].

Esmeralda Dominguez
Student Body Vice President

My name is Esmeralda Dominguez, and I am honored to serve as the Vice President of the Student Government Association at Eastern New Mexico University. As someone who was born and raised in Portales, I care deeply about our campus and community. My goal as Vice President is to advocate for students, support their success, and ensure that every student feels heard and represented. I believe Student Government should be approachable and accessible, and I encourage students to share their ideas, concerns, and experiences with me throughout the year.

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Bilingual Education. My passion for education comes from my desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others and create opportunities for students to succeed. Through my studies, I have developed a strong appreciation for leadership, service, and building supportive communities where everyone feels valued.

In addition to Student Government, I serve as a Peer Wellness Ambassador at ENMU, where I work to promote student well-being, mental health awareness, and campus engagement. This role has allowed me to connect with students from many different backgrounds and better understand the challenges they may face during their college experience. Whether through Student Government or my work as a Peer Wellness Ambassador, I am passionate about helping students find the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive.

My involvement in Student Government has given me the opportunity to serve my fellow students and contribute to initiatives that strengthen campus life. As Vice President, I look forward to working alongside students, faculty, staff, and fellow student leaders to create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for everyone at ENMU. Serving as Vice President is a privilege, and I am excited for the year ahead. If you ever have questions, concerns, ideas, or simply want to chat, please do not hesitate to reach out. I am here to listen, advocate, and work alongside you to make ENMU the best experience possible for all students. Contact me at [email protected].
