The student government of Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) provides students a voice in University governance and helps to enhance the overall student experience at ENMU. Student government is comprised of three branches: the executive branch, the legislative branch and the judicial branch.
The executive branch is led by the student body president and is comprised of other executive officials and directors. The legislative branch is led by the student body vice president (president of student senate) and is comprised of their legislative cabinet and student senate. The judicial branch is led by the chief justice and is comprised of other justices and support staff.
Student Body President Ryann Montano
"My goal for the student government is to make us more approachable to the student body. We are here to serve the students, and that is exactly what we will do. I look forward to leading the student government in a new direction and improving the Eastern experience for all students."
I am a senior majoring in biology with an emphasis in pre-medicine and minoring in athletic training. I am from Albuquerque, New Mexico and graduated from Sandia High School in 2014. At Eastern, I have been a member of student government for three years, I have been a member of many committees, the director of Student Concerns, and the senate pro-tempore. I played for the softball team for three years, am a member of the Chi Omega Women's Fraternity, and was recently chosen to join Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
I decided to join ASENMU because I have been in student government since high school and I really enjoy helping others. I look forward to my time as student body president and will do my best to make sure that everyone has a great experience as a Greyhound. I have an open-door policy and hope that everyone feels comfortable reaching out to me for anything that they may need.
Student Body Vice President Paden Hagler
"My goal for the student senate is to facilitate growth and development in both personal and professional matters. I look forward to leading the 51st senate in taking steps in new directions to improve our overall transparency and service to the student body. We are going to break barriers and build a future."
I am a fourth-year agricultural education major that grew up working on the family farm located in Texico, New Mexico. During my time here, I have been involved as an active member and Chapter President of ENMU FFA, a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi, a recruiter, research assistant, and peer mentor for the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences and Agriculture Department. I was a senator for the College of Education and Technology, and worked hard to represent the students of my college, being involved with as many events as possible. I decided to join student government because of the love I have for Eastern. I aspire to do all that I can for this wonderful university and all of the Greyhounds enrolled. I look forward to my year of service to you all.
Chief Justice Thalia Pantoja
I served as a student senator representing the College of Fine Arts. During my time as a senator I was the director of Eastern in Action, senate parliamentarian and I served on a variety of committees.
