Portales, NM – September 4, 2026 – Eastern New Mexico University announced today the schedule of events for the upcoming annual JP Stone Community Bank Rally on Main and Family Weekend, September 25-26.
The Rally is open to both the campus and the local community. Students and family members participating in Family Weekend with their families are asked to RSVP for all events via our registration link by Sept. 16. Registered families will receive two free game-access tickets (Women’s Soccer and Football) and a free breakfast throughout the weekend, in addition to several other on-campus activities.
"Rally on Main has become a great tradition to showcase Portales as a part of Family Weekend," Dr. James Johnston, ENMU chancellor, said. "It has been about a month since students arrived to begin the semester. We now look forward to welcoming back our students’ families and enjoying a fun-filled weekend on campus and in our community."
Family Weekend Begins Sept. 25, Public Invited to Attend Rally on Main
Start the day by visiting our campus bookstore, campus museums, and archeological attractions (see website for times).
Grab a bite to eat at the 3rd Annual Hispanic Food Truck Rally starting at 11 a.m. on the south end of the Campus Union Building. This event will run concurrently with the Rally on Main celebration, featuring an evening of delicious food with music from multi-award-nominated Tejano artist Sammy Torres and The New Image starting at 7 p.m. Standard pricing will apply at each food truck.
Join ENMU Soccer for their 2 p.m. game against Dallas Baptist at the Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium. Family Weekend registrants receive free access.
Both the public and Family Weekend registrants are invited to the Rally on Main event at the RCEC Plaza across from the district courthouse in Portales.
Main Street between Highway 70 and Commercial Street will come to life with an evening of food trucks, a kids' zone, booths from ENMU departments, and live entertainment.
The event features a concert from 5–7 p.m. by the melody-based funk-rock band, Say When. "We love to play any genre of music, but we do it our way. You need some funk? Just Say When," said Isaiah Duty, guitar player and representative for the band.
The band performance will be followed by a community pep rally from 7–7:30 p.m. featuring members of the Greyhound Sound band.
Free parking is available at the C&S parking lot on N Avenue C or at the Roosevelt County Electric lots across from the venue. Attendees are asked to avoid blocking the C&S diesel station or bucket trucks at the RCEC lot.
Family Weekend Ends Sept. 26
ENMU Family Weekend activities continue into Saturday, Sept. 26. The day begins with a Breakfast Mix and Mingle from 9–11 a.m. at the Greyhound Lounge in the Campus Union Building, giving registered families a chance to connect with the ENMU president, deans, department heads, faculty, and staff. Families must register to attend.
The campus bookstore, campus museums, and archeological sites will remain open on Saturday for families to visit.
The afternoon transitions to the Family Weekend Tailgate, at the Alumni Tent,, from 11:30 a.m. –1:30 p.m., followed by the Greyhounds football game against UT Permian Basin at 2 p.m. at the Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium.
