As a Communication emphasis major interested in pursuing a Master’s in Communication at ENMU, you can participate in an accelerated program to receive your Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in your chosen Communication emphasis and a Master of Arts in Communication as our Communication Accelerated (4+1) path. This will allow you to enroll in up to nine graduate credits during the last year of your undergraduate program, shortening your time earning your graduate degree. Those credits apply toward elective credit in the undergraduate degree and meets core requirements for the graduate communication degree.

Participating in the Accelerated Communication Program
To participate in the Communication B.A. or B.S./M.A. accelerated program, you must have completed 90 credit hours of your undergraduate degree and have an institutional GPA of 3.0 or greater. You must achieve a grade of B or greater for the course(s) to apply for the M.A. in Communication program.
Education Graduate Program Admission Requirements
Admission to the accelerated program requires that you meet graduate school admission requirements with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Additionally, your admission is based on a review of your academic performance up to that point.
B.A./B.S. to M in Communication Coursework
Once admitted to this accelerated program, you may take up to nine hours of graduate (500-level) courses during your last year of your undergraduate degree. However, only selected courses are allowed in the program. Consult with the graduate coordinator or your academic advisor to understand which courses are eligible for enrollment. You must seek approval for registration from the Communication Program's graduate coordinator and the dean of the Graduate School each semester you participate in the accelerated program.
