ENMU Chamber Singers Embark on Annual Fall Performance Tour

The Eastern New Mexico University Chamber Singers will embark on their annual fall performance tour on Sunday, Nov. 10, with a kick-off concert in Roswell, New Mexico at First Presbyterian Church at 4 p.m.

This concert is very special for the Chamber Singers because it is their first public performance in Roswell in a number of years, and because it includes a collaboration with Mr. Bryan Hunley and the Cyettes and Roadrunners—the advanced choral ensemble of Roswell High School. The performance is free and open to the public. ENMU Choir CDs and donations are graciously accepted during a meet-and-greet reception following the performance. "We are deeply indebted to Mr. Ralph Kaler and the First Presbyterian Church staff for hosting this event," says Dr. Jason Paulk, director of Choral Activities and professor of music.

Seven school performances will comprise the remainder of the ensemble's fall performance tour, according to Dr. Paulk. "Our performance repertoire this semester is very diverse, and the audiences will be treated to several men's and women's ensemble pieces, as well as some really stunning and artistic concert repertoire by the 25-voice Chamber Singers."

"This ensemble is auditioned each year and is comprised of highly-motivated singers and young artists who hold high standards of artistic integrity. It is an honor to teach them and see all they are accomplishing in their pursuit of excellence."

At Deming High School, the Chamber Singers will collaborate with the Deming High School choirs, directed by Ms. Jamie Gill, in a Veterans Day event. "We are looking forward to performing alongside these wonderful young musicians, as we present Daniel Elder's Dona Nobis Pacem together," shares Dr. Paulk.

Other school visits and performances on tour include Silver City High School, Safford High School in Arizona, Eastern Arizona College, Centennial High School, Oñate High School and Irvin High School in El Paso, Texas.
