The Matchup
The Greyhounds are 13-10 against Tarleton State, with an 8-6 record when playing the Texans in home games.

Last season, the Greyhounds snapped a 10-game skid in the series against Tarleton State with a 49-44 victory on the road. Both teams scored in every quarter and Eastern never trailed in the game. The Hounds snapped a 28-all tie in the third quarter and took the lead for good on a 51-yard interception return from De'Aundre Sanders. ENMU held a crucial 14-10 edge in points off turnovers, in addition to a 34:16-25:44 advantage in time of possession.

The last time the Hounds defeated the Texans at home was a 34-27 decision on October 14, 2000. Facing a 20-13 deficit, Eastern scored 21 points in the fourth quarter on touchdown runs from Heath Ridenour and Dennis Beard, while James Stewart scored on an interception return. The game marked ENMU's eighth straight win over Tarleton State, dating back to the series opener in 1961.

Greyhound Head Coach Josh Lynn is in his fifth season at Eastern and has a 24-22 record. With a 15-15 mark in league play, he is just one of two coaches in team history with a .500 or better record in LSC play. In 2013, the Greyhounds finished with a 5-1 mark in Lone Star Conference play to share the league title with Tarleton State. Todd Whitten returned to the Tarleton State sidelines after coaching the team in 2996 and from 2000-04. He has a 48-26 record with Tarleton State and an overall 73-54 record as a NCAA head coach.
