Editor's Note: Briana Schulein, the new Accounting Clerk II- Accounts Payable, began working at Eastern on Aug. 31. In the interview below, she discusses her job and life.

Q. What are the main duties of your job?

  • Student Refunds
  • Travel Vouchers
  • Pay invoices for Portales and Ruidoso

 

Q. What have you enjoyed most about your job, and what have been the biggest challenges?
My biggest challenge would be Banner, it’s a program I definitely had to get familiar with.

Q. What were you doing before you came to ENMU, and what other jobs have you held?
Before I came to ENMU I was employed at JP Stone Community Bank in the operations department.

Q. What are your degrees and majors, and what activities did you participate in college?
After high school I attended Eastern to obtain my degree in Communicative Disorders but recently decided that wasn’t for me. I am now going for my bachelor's in University Studies.

Q. Where were you born, raised, and what was your life like growing up?
I am from here; I was born and raised in Portales.

Q. Tell us about your own family?
I am married; I have two little boys, and two Miniature Australian Shepherds who keep me on my toes.photo briana 602

Q. What are your hobbies?
My busy life of being a wife and mother.

Q. What is your general impression of Portales, and ENMU?
Portales is little but a great place to live and go to school. I attended for five years when I was a student.
