Q. What are the main duties of your job?

Assist faculty in various ways.

Answer students questions regarding faculty and classes.

Assess various data reports for the College of Education.

Q. What have you enjoyed most about your new job, and what have been the biggest challenges?

Everyone is very patient and helpful. My biggest challenge has been figuring out how I want to organize my office and getting my filing system situated.

Q. Who are some of the people and experiences at ENMU that stand out the most?

I love the closeness that ENMU has with everyone who works here. I especially love during the holidays seeing how everyone decorates their area and the fact that we get time off to be able to spend time with our family, that is one of the major reasons I wanted to work here.

Q. What were you doing before you came to ENMU, and what other jobs have you held?

I worked as a Sonic skating carhop while attending ENMU and directly before coming to ENMU I worked as a bank teller.

Q. What are your degrees and majors, and what activities did you participate in college (include names of schools)?

I have a degree in Business Administration from ENMU. I worked as a work-study and as a car hop through college and most of my free time I spent working on and playing with my cars.

Q. Where were you born, raised, and what was your life like growing up (what did parents do, siblings, etc.)?

I was born and raised here in Portales. I have one younger brother. I spent summers in Colorado growing up and those are some of my best memories. Love hanging out with my cousins!

Q. Tell us about your own family?

I have a 7 year old son who is a bundle of energy! He enjoys being in school and playing outside, especially soccer and football. My parents are here in town and have been an amazing source of support for me, especially recently.

Q. What are your hobbies?

I have a passion for cars. I have a 2002 Pontiac Trans Am Firehawk. She is my 13th car. I love going to the drag track and meeting other car enthusiasts. I also love to curl up with a good book and read or watch movies. My son loves to play soccer and football so we try to spend time at the park as well.

Q. What gives your life meaning?

My son changed my life. I love that he reminds me to enjoy life. I also recently was reminded to enjoy the ride and not rush through life. Things happen unexpectedly and that is what makes life interesting.

Q. What is your general impression of Portales, and ENMU?

Portales is a small town but we are a close knit community. I love that about living here. People are always willing lend a hand and help someone out.
