Greyhound Grind Helps Fund ENMU Student Scholarships

PORTALES, NM – June 18, 2021 – Eastern New Mexico University has partnered with Red Rock Roasters of Albuquerque to produce an ENMU-branded coffee dubbed Greyhound Grind. A portion of the price of every bag purchased benefits ENMU student scholarships.

Owner of Portales business Sweetwater's at Landall's – and ENMU alumnus – Landall Goolsby recommended Red Rock Roasters as the perfect partner for Eastern to market the Greyhound Grind. Founded in 1993, Red Rock Roasters takes the craft of coffee roasting seriously, having won the New Mexico Coffee Roaster Competition in 2018 and is the only New Mexico-based roaster to score more than 90 points in a tasting by the Coffee Review.

"We are so excited to partner with ENMU to offer Greyhound Grind," said Rachel Langer of Red Rock Roasters. "We took inspiration from the rugged natural beauty of the Llano Estacado, in which Portales is situated, and developed a medium-dark blend with great body and a long, sweet, chocolaty finish. We think it's going to be a real crowd-pleaser."

The coffee will be available online at www.redrockroasters.com/greyhound-grind and will soon be on sale locally at Sweetwater's at Landall's or Farmer's Country Market in Portales.

"It's excellent coffee and a terrific opportunity to have your caffeine and help ENMU students. I plan to order a big supply." ENMU President Patrice Caldwell said. "The partnership with our valued alumnus Landall Goolsby pairs Eastern with a great community business."

The Greyhound Grind name was submitted first by former ENMU student Karey Hogan, and was chosen from more than 200 name suggestions submitted by ENMU employees, alumni and friends.
