A Letter from the New Mexico Council of University Presidents Regarding the Tragic Loss of Lives Experienced by the University of the Southwest's Golf Teams

The New Mexico Council of University Presidents and its members are heartbroken to learn that six members of the University of the Southwest's golf teams and their coach were among the lives lost in a West Texas crash Tuesday night. An incident that involves so many individuals who were taken while participating in a university activity is particularly devastating. We join the community of Hobbs, the students, faculty and staff of USW, and USW President Quint C. Thurman in grieving this terrible loss. We send our condolences to the families and loved ones of everyone involved in this tragic event.

Sincerely,
