Portales, NM-June 14, 2022- Eastern New Mexico University is going back to the roots of its mission with a new slogan. "Student Success! That's What We're About!"

Born out of an effort by the office of Communication Services to align the University slogan more closely with the University Mission, the slogan reflects ENMU's commitment to students who seek a higher education partner committed to their success.

The office of Communication Services brought together a focus group of faculty, staff and student leaders to review the University slogan last spring. After discussion with this group and ENMU Core Staff the decision was made to switch to a slogan that highlights a core value of the University

"What we learned, which is perhaps no surprise, is that student success is a core part of our identity." said John Houser, the assistant vice president for Communication Services. "The question was how to tie us back into our mission of student success. We eventually returned to a slogan that brings us back to our roots and the heart of our mission."

The slogan should be instantly recognizable as ENMU, whether it's a slogan on billboards, on videos or other advertising around the State of New Mexico and West Texas. The new slogan will begin appearing on ENMU publicized materials this summer.
