Eastern New Mexico University Provides Summer Educational and Athletics Camps and Programs for the Community

Portales, NM – May 20, 2025– Eastern New Mexico University is hosting educational and athletic summer camps and programs on the University campus in Portales, New Mexico.

ENMU is e excited to again offer numerous camps and activities for the community this summer. Through the expertise of our faculty and staff, we cover a broad range of interests for all ages and look forward to seeing our community on campus.

ENMU will be hosting various educational and summer camps through the Athletics Department, the Office of Distance Learning, the Golden Student Success Center, the College of Education and Technology and the College of Fine Arts. The programs will include:

Athletics

  • ENMU Football prospect camp June 10
  • ENMU Men’s Basketball youth camps for students in grades K–8 on June 9–11
  • ENMU Volleyball has several different camps for all ages running from July 7–July 27

Distance Learning

  • Lil’ Hound Science Camp – ages 8-12, June 10–12
  • Cenare Con Te: Dinner with You: An Italian Dinner Cooking Class – ages 18 and older, June 12
  • Summer Yin Yoga with Melissa Maas – ages 18 and older, every Thursday, June 5–July 24
  • Financial Literacy Bootcamp: Building Your Financial Future – ages 16 and older, June 24–26
  • Introduction to Cybersecurity – ages 18 and older, June 12, June 26, and July 10

Golden Library

  • American Quilting: Create a Nine-Patch Hotpad – all ages, 12 and under require a guardian, July 12
  • Bookmaking Workshop – grade 7 and older and adults, June 13
  • Camp Papercraft – grades K-8, July 14–18
  • Creative Connections: An Evening of Arts and Crafts – all ages, June 19, July 17
  • Teen Trivia! – ages 13–18, June 24
  • A Wellness Program – Simple & Free – all ages, 12 and under requires a guardian. Walking sessions on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, June 18–Aug 1

College of Education and Technology

  • 2025 Summer Reading Program – The program will provide free structured literacy instruction to kindergarten through grade 5 students. June 2–June 27, weekdays from 8 a.m. until noon.
