90 Years of Student Success 1934-2024
Eastern New Mexico University, the youngest state university in New Mexico, has grown significantly since its founding in 1934. What began as Eastern New Mexico Normal School with just 165 students and 36 courses has blossomed into a world-class institution. By 1955, the university was officially renamed Eastern New Mexico University to reflect its expanding role in higher education.
Today, ENMU is renowned for its highly respected programs in education, business, communications, fine arts, sciences, and health professions. The University is committed to preparing students for emerging career opportunities while emphasizing excellent teaching, active learning, and community service. As an ENMU alumnus, you are part of a proud legacy dedicated to excellence and impact.
